What is the opinion of the use of SeaFoam and the GL1100A 1983?

if the carbs a bit gunked up, it can eventually dissolve the crud and hopefully it will run like it should.
I bought a '94SE with gunked up carbs, should have just cleaned them immediately.
I chose to use Sea Foam, took about 4 months, but it finally got all the crud out of them. at that time, the '94 was my daily transportation, and it saw use everyday for a minimum of 40 miles/day. a semi bought that bike in '08....
in '10 I bought a '98SE and again, had to use Sea Foam, and again, it cleaned up the problem.....
BUT, it is not an overnight panacea fix. You must be patient and willing to ride a misbehaving beast until it finally clears up.
That said, is the problem only with crud in the carbs?
is a diaphragm or vacuum line leak or misadjusted float?

Re: Use of SeaFoam
Thanks for the info.
The bike runs pretty good just sat for a season and thought it could use a little cleaning of the carbs, have used SeaFoam for other things but never on the bike so just being cautious.

In that case, I would run 2oz/gallon in every tank for about 3 or 4 tanks.
after that, 2oz/tank as a general WTH maintenance item.
I still do that once in a while, even on my 1800...
TWC3 is what I have been using lately though with the 1800.
