Gl1100 front brake line length

Post by Keegster1120 » Tue Jun 18, 2019 6:09 am

Hello everyone. First post and I just had a quick question. I am wanting to replace the front brake line on my 83 Gl1100 (the line that goes from the left brake to the handlebar master cylinder) and I was wondering what the proper length line is to order a replacement. Or if someone could even provide a link to a suitable good quality ss Braided line that would be much appreciated. Thanks!

I can't measure one for a 1983 because I only have an 80 Goldwing. The two places I would look to order a set of SS brake lines for a GL1100 is www.helperformance.us and also wezmoto.com which are two manufacturers/suppliers for 80-83 Goldwings. Coincidentally, I'm also upgrading mine next year to SS and I'll be getting a set from Wezmoto then for my 1980.

I'm rebuilding an 83 GL1100 and have stripped off the fairing. I find that the brake lines on the front, as well as the throttle cables, are a bit too long and don't look that good. Let me know if you find a way to order them that allows for some customization with the length. You know, to tighten up the look and streamline it a bit.
