GL1100 plastic caps on rear side of Carb rack

Post by PhotoDoctor »

I recently bought a 1983 GL1100 interstate because I wanted to see if the gearing is really notably taller in the 83’ vs. 81 and 82. (Granted I don’t need much of an excuse to buy bikes:) This bike is pretty much stock and unmolested. While the bike ran poorly due to dirty carbs it does run. I’ve now pulled the carbs and have gone through them and am waiting on a few parts such as 4 ACV’s and accelerator pump.

It appears that the carbs have never been off the bike and there is no indication that any of the screws have been touched in the past. However, on the back of the carbs there are two plastic caps missing that cover springs for a portion of the choke mechanics….does anyone have a set from a junk set of carbs willing to sell or donate to this project. Maybe I can find caps from a bottle or something that I can silicone on there - and I really have not tried looking up OEM parts for these but I doubt they are available. (It’s a 1983 Wineberry Interstate in pretty nice cosmetic shape, a keeper maybe)

The caps I'm asking about should be where the yellow circles are.

If you can't find anything...With exact dimensional drawings I can "print" a set.
I work in metric sizes...pla and abs plastic.

Virgilmobile - that's a kind offer but we will save that amount of skill and work for something more rare : )
