belt brand info

Post by lucagw »

Hi everyone, new on this forum.

Few days ago I got a 1982 GW which in september will go at the shop in order to be checked and for having some parts replaced, like timing belt.
The question is, is there a brand you would suggest for timing belts or all the brands I see around on sale works fine and there is not difference between one and another? Thanks!

Most often I see Gates T274 recommended (Here and on other forums). Gates are priced right and good quality. Available from Amazon and many quality Auto Parts stores. They are on my 3 bikes.

Gates is the manufacturer for nearly all of the cam drive belts, no matter where you buy them.
NAPA? that is Gates

don't worry about the brand, just get new belts.

I have not thought about that self centered lady in a long long time.

Please folks, just keep in mind, that Saber is part of that business's name, and she swings that saber violently if you even suggest she shipped the wrong part.

best to just look elsewhere ;)
