Hello everyone, does a gl1000 primary chain fits to gl1100 engine?

I don't think they are interchangeable. If you look at the Honda part numbers for all years GL1000 engines, the chain is 23131-371-004. The Honda part number for your 1980 GL1100 is 23131-463-003. I've never had a 75-79 GL1000 engine apart so I can't tell you what is different about the chains.
