Front indicators permanently illuminated

Post by Def-fid »

My 1982 Aspencade has both front indicators permanently illuminated, however they still flash more brightly in operation. I suspect a short circuit somewhere, any advice on where to look first?

My guess is that they have been wired with dual filament bulbs to provide running lights at the front (like my CB750L has as standard). In this case, you do not have a fault. If you don't like the running lights on all the time, locate the wire to each running light (usually the same colour as the indicator wire, but with a white ring or stripe) and disconnect it.

If memory serves me the 1100 has factory front marker lights with dual filament bulbs.

Incidentally Def-fid, I notice you are in the UK. If you are worried about the legality of permanently lit front marker lights, they are perfectly legal in the UK and it will pass an MOT.
