Engine assy.

Post by Mr moe »

Picked up another GL1100 in a thousand pieces.
Working to get the engine together today.
It's been stripped down to bare shell.

Alternator shaft has a "6303 RS" brg. That goes on the inboard end of the shaft.
Question is which is the brg. mounted? Seal the inside or outside of the of the casting.
You cannot tell by the parts breakdown.

Present rebuild 1982 GL1100A Goldwing

Don't part them out ---- Restore them.

Seal goes outside to keep oil in the case.
