I pulled the starter off my 1100 to take it apart and do some repair. When I opened the starter there was about a tablespoon of oil inside. Not even sure how it got in there. The insides look terrible and black. Also the bolt that holds the cable going to the solenoid is stripped and wont tighten. The connections on the inside were broken as well. I did manage to get everything cleaned up and re soldered the connections.
The starter does work on the bench now but I cant tighten the bolt that holds on the power cable. One nut is like its welded on. Is there any way to fix this or repair that bolt? Pics coming.
