1982 Fork teflon parts

Post by fokkersauras »

Hello fellow enthusiasts. I recently decided to change my never before changed fork seals and oil. All I can say is I will never do it again unless I have a hydraulic press available to me.
Any way my problem is that I decided to do a full rebuild using new bushings as well. There are two bushings in each fork leg one is Honda part 51414-463-003. The other one is it appears a spring fit to the bottom of the fork tube. I believe SOME part venders call this a "Sleeve, fork Pipe" the other is Bush, Fork Pipe". Both are shown as exactly the same part number 51414-463-003. The Bush, Fork pipe I believe is the bushing that I have (same part #) that has the teflon on the inside of the ring. The part I'm looking for is approximatel 1 1/2 times as wide as the one I have AND the teflon is on the outside. I am confused and the parts diagram do not show sufficient detail.

I would be most grateful to anybody that can help me navigate this quagmire and get the correct Honda part number. I have looked for this part on ebay, and whenever I insert the make and model GL1100 (it's a standard) it says this part does not fit this model.

Again thank you for any guidance.

You have the correct part number for the top bushing (51414-463-003) but the correct part number for the bottom bushing or sleeve is actually 51415-463-003. Both are still available new from Honda.

Hey, thanks for chiming in Hondog. I'm going to order those parts tomorrow. I'm going to open up a few parts diagrams and see where they show that part. It drove me daffy. Again thanks. Hope that I'll get the pieces together soon :D
