81 gl1100 foot pegs

Hey all!! First time posting. I was wondering if a 78 front left foot peg would work on an 81

I don't think so, different parts #'s but Why? If you are buying off ebay for instance buy one for a gl1100. I don't get it.

One for 1100 is $96 one for 78 $23 simple brokenomics! Lol

Got Ya! But if you aren't in a rush, quite often they come up on ebay for less. I got both for my 83 for just over 60 US dollars total. The frames are slightly different and I would do as you are and make sure to buy one that fits. Maybe contact some bike breakers? Another thing you can do is post on the for sale forum on this site and maybe on the wanted section of NGWclub.com Just a thought

Go to ebay and enter 264524211569 in the search. It will take you to a left footpeg for your 1981 Goldwing. If the asking price is to high just enter a best offer in the box provided. Hopefully you can get it.

Also when shopping remember that there are slight differences even on the 1100's. For example the 83's are wider and flatter. This is important if you are trying to match a left to a right foot peg you already have. I say this cause you asked about the left foot peg only. In my case I was ripping off floorboards so bought a matching set of pegs for my 83. I don't recall what year 1100 they were off of but they bolted on just fine.

1980 and 1981 footpegs are exactly the same, no visible difference. They even have the same Honda part numbers for left and right those years. 82 is shaped different only in the arm portion, but 83 is totally different from your bike's style.
