So I finally got the old girl inspected and insured ready for the road, but there is still alot of work.
I have a few questions I hope any of you can answer.
1) Voltage: Messured over the battery, it seems this bike is putting out 14,3 v even at idle. This doesnt change with revs( new battery, fully charged), is this normal?
2) Loud ticking noise that seems to come from rear of engine right side, the valves has been ajusted. Any ideas ?
Voltage and ticking noise, what do you think ?

14.3 volts is good, especially at idle.
That tick almost sounds like a minor exhaust leak where the pipes bolt to the heads. Listen underneath. If that's what it is, it won't hurt anything.

just seems strange to push 14.3 volt to the battery when it full, maby the alternator cant sense how much in the battery.
There is a major exhaust leak on the right side...not where the pipes connect, but where the header meets the back pipe..seems like it rusted out. Cant see any hole, but here is massive amount of exhaust coming out.

Stators constantly produces maximum power based on RPM. Once the battery is full and the electrical load reduced that stator is still producing maximum power. When that happens the rectifier dumps it in the form of heat into it's cooling fins as well as into into the frame to get rid of it.ficus wrote: ↑Thu Jul 02, 2020 9:45 am just seems strange to push 14.3 volt to the battery when it full, maby the alternator cant sense how much in the battery.

14v at idle is a good thing, although a little weird. At idle these things should be discharging the battery. So long as it doesn't climb above 14.5 when you bring the RPMs up you should be good.
