How do you adjust the timing on a 1982 Aspencade? Any pictures would be very appreciated thank you ..

Basically the timing is non adjustable. What is your intentions? Are you just trying to get it to run correctly, or are you trying to get some performance gain by modifying it?
The timing is set by having the belts correctly installed. And is slightly advanced by the advance mechanism, assuming that is functioning properly. What are your symptom of incorrect timing?

My husband took the timing belt off and he is trying to put it on the way it was when he took ot off.

So, you are asking about the cam timing not the ignition timing.....?
He took the belt off after he lined up the timing mark (T1) on the flywheel, right? If so that’s good.... otherwise not. Does he have a service manual?
There are many many posts on this site regarding the timing belts. Search on “timing belts”. One of them is mine from 2016. Lots of pix.
Be sure to ask more Q’s if needed..
