Kick starter on 1975 Goldwing

Post by The Wolf »

Just got a 75 Goldwing and In Process of rebuilding it. It came with a kick starter, so for grins I put it in it,s spot and pushed it down, but it was too easy. It doesn’t turn over the engine at all. The electric starter does turn the engine over with compression and all, but the kick starter feels like it’s not connecting to the gears or anything. Any suggestions, since I haven’t had a kick starter sincee my early days in the 60, thanks for any help.

After posting I read other posts and it looks like it’s a racketeering problem, . Try spraying the shaft on the kick starter with PB blaster, maybe that will loosen it and then it will move. No guarantees it will turn over the engine.
