Definitively yes you can Darkside a GL 1100. I just put this Excelsior 5.00/5.25 16 tire on my 1983

Interesting tire.
Just be aware it has a P speed rating (93 mph), has a load index of 74 (827 lbs) and is supposed to be used with a tube.

So how does it ride? Will be interesting to see what kind of mileage you get.

Haven’t ridden it yet. The GL 1100 is going to be my tug for a 1960s Watsonian Sidecar so the speed rating shouldn’t be an issue 👍 Hopefully I can take it on a test ride later this week and get back to you on how it feels before the Sidecar’s mounted for good
