Black/white wire for Kill Switch

Post by Wilcoy02 »

Can some one tell me where I will find the wire from the kill switch? This is an 83 gl1100 standard.
It goes down the handle bar in a bundle of wires. I am looking to find it where it comes out of the bundle.

My kill switch quit working and I want to fix it.

Thanks.

I don't know if it's helpful, but there is a wiring diagram in the DIY section of this forum.

Yes That is where I found it to be black/white wire. But it does not tell me where I can physically find where it comes out of the bundle of wires.
thanks

Seems I'm always running into the same problem- I hope someone can pass on practical info.

Follow that bundle of wires into the first plug you come to. It's likely behind the weight you see once the faring is removed. If no faring, it's probably behind the headlight. Once you've accessed the spider web of wires in one of those places, wiggle the cluster from the handlebar and watch what moves in the spider web.
