Hello all trying to narrow down a few issues I'm having on my bike,
1: I have an extra set of intake manifold "elbows" I would call them. One of the rubber boots that fits to the carbs is pulled off, is there a good way to rebond the boot to the elbow or am I screwed and in need of new boots? The boots appear to be in good shape other then the one that pulled clean off the elbow as I removed them from the carbs.
2: My 83 is stuttering quite a bit at full throttle. I recently went through the carbs and re-jetted them and bench synced them, as soon as I got it together it ran very well except for full throttle. I ordered a gauge kit and it will be here in a few days but is there anything I could or should try in the mean time?

for the full throttle stutter i would test the output of the fuel pump.

If it's bogging down (running out of power), that can be fuel delivery, in which case I'd check the fuel filter.
If it's stuttering, i.e. missing, I'd look at plugs/coils/wires. It takes a lot of power to spark plugs at high throttle settings, and if there is something in the spark delivery system that is not up to snuff, it will come out as missing under load (i.e. WOT).

Re: Gl1100 intake manifold boots
Thanks for the advice on the seal all. I’m just looking for an in case replacement set so I’ll give it a try.
I looked over the pump, psi, GPM, and didn’t notice anything off. I’ve read that quite a few folks are running electric pumps so I upgraded to a 4 psi inline pump and replaced the filter. No change.
I haven’t really thought about the ignition before now. It was bogging down before the fuel pump replacement now it’s more of a miss. I guess I have a place to start this weekend.
