How much for parts bike?
Hello all. I have an opportunity to buy a parts bike (no title) for my '82 Aspy. Not sure how much to offer, as the price wasn't negotiated when I got the phone call. It is apparently nearly complete, and in decent condition. I don't want to insult the owner, nor do I want to overpay, so how much would you all offer as an appropriate price? I know it would save me money in the long run if parts are needed.

I'd say $300-$500 depending on condition and completeness. Does it still have the carbs? Is the engine in condition it can be made to run again?
A local inventor has figured a way to turn a sausage grinder backward to manufacture pigs.

Re: How much for parts bike?
Exactly the price range I was going to post. No title so in my part of the world it is only a "parts bike". I understand some states are easier than others to get a new title tho. I am assuming the engine is not seized. Good parts are getting harder to find and if the parts bike is the same color as your Aspy then that is another plus especially if you plan to keep your bike for a long time.DenverWinger wrote: ↑Sun Feb 14, 2021 11:31 am I'd say $300-$500 depending on condition and completeness. Re: How much for parts bike?
From what I understand, the saddlebags are gone, but otherwise it is complete with carbs and it runs. Can't make it a street bike in my state due to no title. It would be a for parts bike only.

400 bucks then tops! IMHO, you probably will find other stuff missing or unusable if the bags are gone.

What year parts bike is it? 80-81 have different brakes than your has as well as 83 has some different brake parts, as well as multiple differences in years on other parts.

Re: How much for parts bike?
I do believe the parts bike is an '81. I'll have to look into which parts are different. That will definitely be a big factor. I did not know there is a difference in parts being that they are the same second generation model. I didn't think it was until the digital gauges in '83 that there was a huge difference. Thank you for pointing that out.
