hello I am fairly new to the GL customizing seen and am looking at doing a single carb conversion for the ease of tuning and repair but I don't know if the stock VW Type 1 EMPI 34 PICT-3 has jets in it that will work right of the bat or if I will need different jets in it to keep from flooding the motor with gas or if I will need bigger to run it correctly.
I have not bought the set up i have seen on etsy for this reason. I have enclosed the link in case anyone wants to go check it out for there own use.

Re: Single Carb Conversion Help
I've run about 6,000 miles on mine and am quite happy with it. You can probable save about $100 overall starting here. The setup you linked uses an Empi brand carb which is basically the Chinese knockoff of the original.

I'm selling good clean fresh hay. If you want some that's already passed through the horse, that comes a little cheaper!

Re: Single Carb Conversion Help
There are some resources on the "How To Articles" tab above and a few posts available the forums.
The OEM carburation is really reliable. Rebuild can be intimidating but top quality parts are available and if you take your time, can be done on the kitchen counter.
If okay with WingAdmin, here are a couple links with info on carburetor conversions:
