source for pistons & rings?

Post by patsinterstate81 »

Hello Gentlemen,
Does anyone have a source for oem or aftermarket pistons & rings?
There is some damage on the skirts. The bores look pretty smooth though.
I'll have them measured next week and see if I can get away with some slight honing and new pistons.

Cheers.

Interesting prices as well.

I guess it is "look for a used engine" time

Canuckxxxx successfully used a set of rings that were from an early model Chev Tracker. Mentioned he got the set from Rock Auto, inexpensive comparably. As long as the ring(s) fit the grooves, you can adjust the end gaps to suit. Automotive world has been doing this for years, no reason you can't do the same with the 1100.
