Disassembly of front axle with "Pac Man" rotor covers

Post by LAB3 »

Just put a new tire on my bike and WAS going to inspect the bearings, replace the brake disks with some resurfaced ones and swap out a non-functioning speedo drive. Was unable to get a wrench on the flat spot on the axle that's on the right side due to the Pac-Man style chrome rotor covers. Had tried grabbing that end with a set of vice grips but it quickly became apparent that was going to chew up the end of the axle. Any suggestions? Am considering just cutting them off with a Dremel!

I'm selling good clean fresh hay. If you want some that's already passed through the horse, that comes a little cheaper!
