83 rear master Cyl
My rear master cylinder the snap ring slot seem to be worn. The snap-ring does not hold the guts of the cylinder in any one else have this problem and figure out a fix. I was thinking of trying a small wire brush in my Dremel to make the slot deeper

It depends on the reason. Often, that slot gets packed with dried brake fluid, which needs to be scraped out with a pick.
If the problem is that the caliper itself has corroded away so that the slot is now nonfunctional, you're probably looking at a replacement master cylinder. But I'm willing to bet it's just years of hardened brake fluid and other gunk in there.

I soaked the Master Cylinder in brake cleaner overnight, then used a small round brass wire brush in my Dremel, using magnifying glasses I could see when the snap
ring slot was totally clean ,short story the master cylinder is back on the bike not leaking and working just fine
