what is the "A" for after the model

Don't think so. All 3 models are listed with the A following. I have no idea. If you are trying to decide what to order that part number fits all 3 models.

In the later years the "A" models are all except California, and the "AC" models are California. But I don't think that really applies that early. Still they may have started that naming system earlier.
