Oil in antifreeze

Post by bdukes »

Changed head gasket on my 82 goldwing and now I have oil in antifreeze. What did I do wrong?

Changed the radiator overflow reservoir. The tube in it was broken. Uses oil but doesn’t smoke at all. Oil is in the reservoir.

Chek out above topic ,I have told my story on oil and coolant.(tomos).There is other posibility and that is gasket under front engine cover(shifting assembly). In uper corner above water pump in the left engine case is a orifice that has room around for a O ring gasket. It dryes out ,breaks etc.
Oil get mixed with coolant through there.Change orifice is a must as it rusts ,change slightly shape and than mixes oil and coolant. That gasket is covered with front cover paper gasket.
Those are two most probable posibilities.Next one is cylinder head gasket and torque that you have to aply when tightening cil.head.Have you replaced both O ring gaskets on oil orifice for cil. head?If not than low torque combined with no gasket or a damaged O ring gaskets is perfect scenario for a problem.
