She is a 1983 Aspencade that I am stripping to be more of a lean sport bike. I have been following a thread of someone doing the same. I have bought a mechanical fuel pump and speedo and instrument cluster from 1982 as advised.
In that thread it is noted that due to mounting differences of clusters between years it won't mount directly on to the 1983 tree (?). Any advice as to what the solution is? Do I try to get a 1983 standard cluster or is there a way to retrofit the new one on that ideally doesn't involve duct tape, tie wraps or crazy glue.
Thanks for any help.

I believe you would need to switch out to an ‘80-82 triple tree top plate and ignition.

Good news. Since I posted that I found a cluster from a non-Aspencade 1983. It is missing the speedometer but I can find one of those. Will return the other one.
Thanks for the quick response.
