Hello,
I recently picked up a used, somewhat mechanics special, 1983 Goldwing.
While I'm no stranger to motorcycles or working on my own vehicles, I am new to Goldwings.
I am having an odd issue I can't see to figure out. The rear brake foot pedal/lever hits the clutch cable.
I compared it to my friends 83 Interstate and everything related to the clutch cable and bracket right there seems identical to mine, but he had an after market brake pedal, so I can't compare that part.
I took the brake pedal off and can't see any way to adjust it.
The old boy I got the bike from does seem to have used parts from other bikes. I'm wondering if I may have a brake pedal off a other year?
I swapped in a other brake pedal that came in the pile of parts with this bike, but she issue.
I have attached a few pictures of the area. Really not sure why it is hitting. Everything seems to be in place.

Hmm. Your brake pedal looks to stick out a lot more than mine.

Re: 1983 Aspencade rear brake pedal hits clutch cablw
there is an adjuster on the shaft going from the pedal to the rear master cylinder. i would start there and adjust it to bring the pedal down at least enough to where it doesnt hit the clutch cable.TorturdChaos wrote: ↑Sat Oct 02, 2021 5:41 pm Hello,

Did the bike take a tip over at some point? Obvious question I know.
