Blue and Green wire from Headstock?

Post by Psycrow »

I searched but cant find the answer. Im converting a 1983 Interstate to naked and I have a dark blue and green wire coming from a rubber cap on the steering head nut cap. Anyone have any idea what these 2 wires are for?

Should be three wires and it goes to the angle sensor at the bottom of the steering stem. It's used for the self canceling turn signals.
Not sure if it's required for the Interstate model. It is on most others unless you change the turn signal switch and do some rewiring, as the push to cancel usually uses the cancel module. Otherwise you either have to hold the turn signal switch in position for them to work, or they don't turn off. I can't remember which. There are threads here about it from others stripping down early bikes. I'm sure someone more knowledgeable on the older bikes can give you the details.
