I've been using this intake and Chinese built Pict 34-3 as he describes since June of last year. Recently I acquired a genuine Solex (German built) Pict 34-3 to rebuild and install since the original Chinese built one seems to already be worn out. Been playing with the jetting on it and am getting a better result with the Solex carb and am going to continue playing with it this winter weather permitting. All in all I'd say "It works".

I'm selling good clean fresh hay. If you want some that's already passed through the horse, that comes a little cheaper!

Pict 34-3 you can get them new on eBay for about $65. These where OEM equipment on air cooled VW's and if you want one that will last longer and stay in tune better you'll want the original Solex branded one.

I'm running the manifold from Boiler-Boy (eBay) and the $65 34PICT3 eBay carb. The manifold is very well built and performs very well (once I got the carb dialed-in). You didn't ask, but everybody else does, "What jetting works best?" It only takes about 3 months and mucho $$ to figure it out for your actual bike. I'm running 127 main and 40 idle. I also have the choke tied open (disabled). Found it easier to establish a proper idle using the throttle cable adjuster after setting the base adjustment on the carb. Fired it up two days ago and it idled at 1100 RPM for about 5 minutes without a stumble.

This is on a '75 GL1000 that did not run or have carbs when I bought it. So I have no comparison for performance. But I do have a '82 GL1100 with stock carbs and the '75 is rocket fast compared to the '82.

Good Luck going Single,
Bud...
