6pin to 5pin ignition

Post by DARK-WING »

Hello guys and good morning.

What thought was going to be an easy fix. I've been down since the New Year's. The original problem was no power at all, but the battery was fine. Crossed the pins at the starter solenoid and was able to turn the motor.

So we figure ignition switch. Well leave it up to me, I ordered the wrong one "WITHOUT ACC" so I figured I could use it anyway. When I hooked it up I had the same problem.

Then I found on ngwclub that you could move the pins on the ignition plug to make it work with a 5 pin ignition switch.

So here's what I have.
1. Removed green wire with black stripe (ACC)and tape it off
2. Remove red wire and install it where the green wire with the black stripe was.
3. Remove black wire and install where the red wire was.
4. Remove brown wire with white stripe (CENTER PIN) on install where the black wire was at.

The good news is I got power now. But my bike will not turn over. Am I missing something?? Anywhere would be greatly appreciated, you guys are AWESOME!!!! Have a great day!
