rear break pedal

Post by arnoldsq »

is there a grease point for the rear break pedal? Mine is stiff and sticking down. its hard to push both directions, but after a bit of WD40 it freed up a little. Any advice on how to go about freeing it up? I don't think it is the caliper as it feels as though its the pivot point below the break light sensor.

The best thing is to take it apart, clean everything and grease it.
However, If you don't want to do that, using chain and cable lube on it can often do the trick. That lubricant is really thin and will penetrate the gaps, then the solvents evaporate and it becomes a thicker grease.

im not near the bike and I'm currently looking through the manual, but is there a bolt up underneath or is it just the spring holding it on?

There is a cotter pin and a washer that hold it to the pivot.
