83 GL 1100 swing arm

is the swing arm adjustable as far as centering it , and if it is not centered properly what will it affect, the problem I am having is the rear brake caliper went back on but it was like the caliper was all the way to the end of it's travel and the brake pads are dragging and the rotor is getting hot

Not trying to steer this in a different direction, but are your caliper pistons moving freely? I had one dragging causing the same issue.
