Hi, I have a 1983 Honda Interstate GL1100 and want to know if I can use the 1983 Honda GL1100 Aspencade rotor and caliper on the Interstate as I lost my calipers for the Interstate?
Thanks in advance.

Re: 1983 Honda Interstate caliper conversion
I guess your talking about the 650 silver wing model and I would think not, the 83 Goldwing 1100 is a heavier bike and I would think it would use a bigger disc although I wonder if another model of the same size bike would work, I believe other Honda's shared the same pads...I hope maybe someone with more brake knowledge can help.
Correction, did 83 have an interstate and a Aspencade? I thought they were all Aspencades, if they had both then I would think for production they would have used the same real brake rotors but again I cant say for sure you will need to measure or have measured before you buy.

In 1983 Honda had the Standard, Interstate and the Aspencade in their line up. The Aspencade had a vented rotor and the others had a standard rotor.

what you can do is use part numbers to see if other brake parts share the same part number, I dont see a different part number other then the revised numbers which is normal both interstate and aspencade shar the same revisions and numbers., the caliper and bracket according to part numbers are the same both models

Hey Biguns, Thank you for the idea,I did look at Partzilla and tried to cross reference the parts. I found a guy locally who has a 1982 Interstate with 83 wheels so I may try to see if that will work. Dave did mention that the Aspencade and Interstate would work.

Some of these parts are used on other bikes besides Goldwings, take for example the final drive fill cap / Stator cover cap. It is the same cap on the old 70's CB 750's used for accessing valve adjustment and a whole scad of other applications. Probably every bike Honda ever made has one of those caps somewhere. Might even find one on a Branny-New 2022 'Wing somewhere, probably final drive.
Chances are possible (but slim) Honda used that particular caliper on other bike models, too.
