Excessive Clutch Actuator Play?

Post by Olizzker »

Hey Guys, new guy here. Short introduction, I'm from Germany and fully restored my fathers GL1100 6 years ago.
Today I wanted to change the slightly too long clutch cable (which is an aftermarket one that fits all 80-83) because it was always at the end of the handlebar adjustment.
I noticed some lateral play in the clutch actuator (in and out the motorcycle). I don't know if this play is needed, it just seemed a bit off to me.
Hopefully someone who understands the clutch actuator a bit better can help.
Here is a short video that demonstrates the possible issue.
