Rear Master Cylinder Rebuild. When Is It Time.

Post by rockford75 »

When is it time to rebuild your Rear Master Cylinder? My rear Brake Pedal goes down a fair ways before I stop. Ive Bled the rear brakes and still same problem. Is there a adjustment for the rear brake pedal?

Probably not a master cylinder problem if the rear brake is firm and effective other than the pedal having too much travel. The link from the rear of the pedal, up to the master cylinder has an adjustment feature. Just look at it closely, it's pretty simple.

I ended up rebuilding the rear Master Cylinder. Which was a great idea as it solved all my problems. Pretty cool pulling the Master cylinder off knowing it hasnt been touched since the factory bolted her on.
