Turn signals

Post by Steamtrain45 »

Just picked up a 1983 jail 1100 in great shape
only 34,000 miles.
The only problem I’m having is with my turn signals. When I first start the bike there’s no turn signals. I go down the road after I hit a few uneven ruts in the road. The signals start to work could be a loose wire??

it sure could, but don't overlook a weak ground. in fact, on a new-to-you 39 year-old bike it's a good idea to disconnect and clean every ground you can find.

Ok. Will do. As a new owner of an old classic. Could you give me a few pointers as to where these grounds are?

Under the seat, back of the engine, under the shelter, a few more I can't remember. Just follow the wiring, they are easy to spot. Also it's a good idea to check all the connectors for corrosion and spray them with some contact cleaner, and replace any really bad ones.
