83 GL1100 Running lights

Post by Perie »

Have a 83 GL1100. Not sure if this is right but I thought the front turn signals also were running lights. Recently had everything off to replace neck bearings. I'm not sure now if they are supposed to be running lights. Should say they operate fine as turn signals. Thanks

Absolutely, the FRONT turn signals are also running lights.
I have an 83 color schematic I can send you. PM your email address.

Quick glance at the schematic shows that the solid blue wire is the running light power for the RH side. The other blue wire has dashes, so the turn signal wire may be white striped blue.
Same situation for the LH side, except the running light wire color appears to be tan or Lt Brown and turn signal wire has dashes.

Green is ground. It's obviously a good ground since the turn signal works.
When all else fails, RTFM!
