Front brake master cylinder source?
Front brake master cylinder source?
80 1100, trying to rescue an oldie, need front m/c, rebuilt it but it leaks between the base and the reservoir, the reservoir is shot too, $$ for a new one, lots of Chinese made ones for cheap, 1 inch bore? It appears that the banjo mounts on the side instead of original site, problem? Thanks, pics to follow

Re: Front brake master cylinder source?
For my 1100 I went to a bike junkyard, couldn't find a Goldwing master cylinder but I found an unknown year/model of Yamaha (or was it a Kawasaki?) that had a front brake master that would fit the GW handlebars and worked twin front disks. It works just fine on my GW. Had to put different crimp connectors for the brake light switch wires though.

The stock bore is 5/8 the larger you get the spongier the brake feel , I used a 14MM as a replacement and got me by but one day leaked heavily and went back to stock, I need the reservoir and oring too, they sell for 50 some dollars and are fairly easy to pop loose but have heard some trouble getting off but none impossible.
