Re: GL1100 Center Stand Spring
So, I used a brake spring wrench to remove the center stand spring. Great but now to remove the center stand to replace it, I need to remove the exhaust and to remove the exhaust I have to remove the crash bars. Oh what fun! Good thing I need to replace the copper exhaust rings and the valve cover gaskets.

Re: GL1100 Center Stand Spring
Extend the center stand. Use needle-nose pliers to shove pennies between the coils of the extended spring. Retract the center stand. The pennies will hold the spring extended, giving you lots of slack to easily remove the spring, no tools (or swearing) required.
