Brakes quetsion

Post by Jcook1023 »

Hey all! Wondering if anyone could point me in any kind of direction. I find that my rear brakes aren’t, well, doing anything lol. I know they’re low, maybe 4mm, but they’re not engaging at all. My initial thought is to replace them, clean and lube the pins like on a car and check that the caliper pistons are doing they're job but prior to doing that are there any adjustments I should check out?

Yeah I’ve put it up on a lift I’ve got and had my son rotate the wheel while applying the brake and I’ve got nothing…the front brakes are fine though!

the 83 is not that simple as the rear brake has a proportioning valve that controls the rear and front right brakes. the front brake only controls the left disk. so check that the peddle is also stopping the front wheel.
