Doing a full teardown on my brake system on my 81, brake calipers are looking quite their age. I've rebuilt calipers before, but never did any paint restoration. What's the best methods for refinishing? And what kinds of finish have people used? What kind of passivation do the calipers take to? I was thinking cold chemical Aluminum blacking with a VHT brake clear-coat? Or would a blacking, primer, paint be better?
Also the rear master has left years of mess on the frame, there a specific paint of choice for frame spot touchups once I get the rust off?

There's many paints out there specifically for calipers. As far as frame paint make sure you get the rust off or convert it before paint. Epoxy is tough.
I did a full system rebuild a short time back. Make sure you clean all your passages good, upgrading to stainless lines is really a good way to go. I also run one regular pad and a semi-metallic Superbike pad for better performance.

I used G2 Brake Caliper Paint on the last set of aluminum calipers I did on a car. Worked great and came out looking like powder coating. Best of all, so smooth and shiny that brake dust just hosed off, even many years later.

Wow that’s a 2 part BRUSH ON? I’m intrigued just on principal at that!

Well, I don't know why I was surprised. Thick, Chunky, Drippy, and clearly a very Brushed on paint....
Up side is it stripped a lot easier than the original coating. Not at all impressed.
