Rear Master Cylinder

Post by dubepj »

Redoing Brakes on my Gl1100A. Rear master seized badly. I'll try the grease gun idea to free it up. I saw someone had used a newer master cylinder and modified the mounts to make it work. Any ideas where I can get a used on doe my 1982 GL1100A.

for a used one you are probably going to have to go to ebay; which may result in you buying a product that is worse (or better) than what you have. did you manage to get yours unseized ?

Grease gun has always worked for me. Ebay Chinese rear masters can be adapted, but always disassemble, clean, and properly reassemble before use.

Buy some Evaporust and soak it in that for a few days - longer if needed. And don't throw it away. Strain it and pour it back in the container for re-use. It is amazing stuff and should not hurt any rubber parts.

That's not just a motorcycle. It's a Gold Wing.
