OK to use Shell Rotella T4 15W-40

1982 GL1100A
Bought 5 liters of Shell Rotella T4 15W-40 Oil. Heavy Duty Diesel engine oil.
Label says Jaso MA/MA2 so I'm thinking good to go for my bike with a wet clutch.
Anyone know why I should not use this?? It way cheaper than Castrol 10-40 motorcycle oil.

It is all that I have used in GL1000s and an SEi. Great oil! I did use T6 in the GL1800.

It makes my gl 1100 smell bad, I use conventional 10-40 and change 3k or less. about the same price clutch and gears seem to shift better.

Lots of Wing owners use diesel oil because of the wet clutch. I use T6 myself.

Removing, cleaning and replacing bolts on The oil sump screen next to crank case next to right exhaust may be the most important upgrade for lubrication and oil pressure . If you are not sure if ever been done , I would do that first and go back to OEM of any brand of that rating.
Oil is Oil but maintenance in this critical oil flow passage helps lubricate the whole system and exchange the flow through the filter .
reduced oil pressure because of a clogged screen won't make much difference on the type or weight you use.

I use Rotella in all my bikes. For some reason neither of my 1100's like the T-6 (clunky shifts 4th to 5th) as much as the T-4. My '76 1000 and '86 1200 enjoy either
