1982 GL1100A Radiator side covers

1982GL1100A.
Parts diagram shows on either side of the radiator a cover that I believe directs air flow into the rad. Mine are missing. is that an issue or should I not even concern myself. Thanks

The 1100 Standard had side scoops, the Interstate (1100I) and Aspencade (1100A) did not (the fairing lowers cover this area). All of the 1000's had them as well. I've not heard/ read of anyone having issues not running them.
If you want to keep it 100% original, the 1100's were chrome, the 1000's were body color. Fitment is interchangeable, IIRC.
