Water pump

Post by dubepj »

Bought a new water pump for my GL1100A from a Chinese company (Aliexpres) . I know OEM is better. Anyone have good or bad luck with these Chinese water pumps. Wish to know real results good or bad. Thanks all.

Pretty much every time someone on the site has used one of those Chinese water pumps (like the ones sold by Saber Cycle) they end up having to re-do the entire job in a few months when the pump fails. For water pumps you really want to go with OEM. The seals in the Chinese pumps go bad pretty quickly and they start leaking.

well I answered my own question. Installed Chinese water pump and right away has an antifreeze leak out of the weep hole. Put in the old OEM one and used the new O rings. seems OK now. I'll take for a spin tomorrow. I'll try to get refund.
