Replacing wires
We went to replace the spark plugs in our new (old) GL 1100 Gold Wing. The former owner suggested a tune up. When we removed the wires, the cap crumbled so one spark plug wire is busted. We ordered new ones and hubby is going to try to replace. Does anyone have a good article step by step on this because what we are seeing is that he has to remove the fake gas tank to get to the wires. Is this accurate and if so, does anyone have a step by step on how to remove it. LOTS of bolts that appear hidden behind stuff that needs to be removed? Is this accurate is that the only way to replace the wires? Thanks for any help and direction.

Re: Replacing wires
If you have a look in the How-To-Articles section, there is a checklist for accessing the GL1100 coil packs. While it's not a bolt by bolt, it does tell you what order to remove things.
Do you have the factory service manual.
If not, Start watching ebay for one. They can be invaluable for working on these bikes.
