Hello all,
Lately I and my wife are traveling longer distances in our 1982 Goldwing (naked), so we need more luggage space. Currently, the bike has a 60lt trunk and was wondering if anyone has adapted a base in the rear part.
I have seen this kind of base in newer Goldwings. A pole "comes out" somewhere in the rear, where they attach a base for a cooler , an extra bag, extra case..
Do you know if I can adapt one of those to my 1982 wing?. If so, please advice in how to do it.
thank you for any help!
Best regards,

Re: Tail rack base for GL1100 Naked
That setup uses a 'receiver' style trailer hitch, an aftermarket unit much like a typical automotive hitch. I've seen that style hitch for sale for newer Wings, but all the styles I've seen for the 1100's use just a base and ball setup. If you know a welder or have some fabrication skills, I would think it would be fairly easy to modify. My 2 cents...
