Fuel Milage
What is typical milage per tank or per gallon that y’all get on a properly tuned GL1100 interstate? I need to do valve adjustments and recync the carbs but just looking to see what people are getting out of these machines. I finally got mine out on the road after some life stuff.
Re: Fuel Milage
I calculate my mileage every time I fill the tank. 45 mpg is the usual based on the bikes odometer.

Re: Fuel Milage
Like I said mine needs a valve adjustment and it was the first tank since rebuild. I was at 35 approximately “there was some idle time in there. “
Re: Fuel Milage
I ride conservatively, mostly in the country at 65 mph or less. The engine, as well as the rest of the bikes systems were overhauled two years ago.

Re: Fuel Milage
It depends. I usually ride on secondary roads, often with hills and curves so lots of shifting of gears, and I don't ride hard. In those conditions riding 2 up with some luggage I get around 41 MPG pretty consistantly. On those occassions when I'm on an interstate at 70 MPH plus for longer periods of time it drops to around 37 - 38 MPG.
