Having issues routing my neutral safety switch wires

New to the forum. I recently purchased an 83 Gl1100i with no wiring harness, lights, indicators, etc.. Have replaced harness with a used one off ebay, new lights etc, I had everything plugged in except for what I now know to be the neutral switch, I have the 2 pin plug that is braided wire, red and green and green and orange. I think I might of burned up something because I dont get anything now power wise but my lights and blinkers.. Can anyone tell me where I need to send these wires from the switch? Does the green and red wire go to the square diode first, then up to the gauge cluster and the green and orange route to the cluster first?
