Re: Warning light for tail light stays on
That's normal. It expects the bulbs to draw a certain amount of current. If it doesn't see that current being drawn, it assumes that the bulb has burned out, and illuminates the warning light on the dash.
LED bulbs draw very little current, much less than a standard incandescent bulb, so the bike thinks it is burned out.
You can either put a resistor across the bulb to make it draw more current (which kind of negates the benefits of having the LED), or remove the warning light from the dash.

It's called the Reserve Lighting Unit.
You will also have to change out the flasher for an LED compatible unit.
You can find instructions somewhere around here on bypassing it for LED lights. You will also have to change out the flasher for an LED compatible unit.

Just use the stock bulbs. Your charging system expects a certain draw and LED can actually make it not work correctly. And personally I have seen a lot of LEDs that are not as visible as stock.
This will probably put a hex on mine, but I am still running the original bulbs. 36 years and 298,155 miles.
