85LTD engine oil leak

Post by kjroondog » Sun Apr 26, 2015 6:27 pm

It doesn't drip after shut down and I can't see anything when it is running. However, somehow, there must be a seep somewhere that drips on the exhaust causing some smelly smoke. Granted, the bike does smoke a bit when started and there is smoke coming from some tube pointing down from the engine. Also, there are vent holes towards the front of the exhaust that look like they are emitting smoke.
I guess I may have some internal issues, eh? It need a stator as well and I have the poor boy kit for it but I need to get this smoking issue taken care of.
Any suggestions where to look? Would any oil treatment work? I have been running Amsoil in her for a while 20/50.

Inspect the shifter shaft seal...They don't last forever.
