ignition switch removal

Post by walker70 »

Just curious,I picked up a 1984 Goldwing Aspencade and would like to know if there is an easy way to remove the two bolts that hold the switch on short of taking everything around it off. :D

Here is how I did it,get all the top covers off so you can see the switch. I used a long extension and a 10mm head on my ratchet get down under the bike . You can look up under the faring and see the two bolts holding the switch to the frame. You may need a swivel neck on the end of the extension. One you get the nuts off you will need to wrestle the switch out as it is tight the air tube for the front shocks is a little in the way. When you go to reinstall it I put a small piece of electric tape to hold the nut in the 10mm head and then put the nuts back on. It can be done fairly easy from underneath.------------Good Luck -----------Hal
